GCCN Autumn Plenary 2023
(Full-members Meeting)
Wednesday, 4 October
Thank you to all members who joined us for this year’s Autumn Plenary on Wednesday, 4 October in the Menlo Park Hotel.
This meeting was rescheduled from September 27th to October 4th due to adverse weather conditions and a yellow wind alert for Galway City on 27 September. This decision was made with everyone’s safety and well-being in mind, and we believe it is the best course of action given the circumstances.
Ahead of next week’s meeting, we shared the new GCCN Policies and Positions (READ HERE) document.
Please read the document and send any comments to Oana at communications@gccn.ie.
The Autumn Plenary provided an opportunity to meet with like-minded groups and organisations active in the city, discuss matters relevant to the community, and hear an update on the current GCCN work.
On this occasion, we held Community Discussions around the updates from the GCCN Representatives who are sitting on local decision-making bodies (SPCs/LCDC/JPC). However, for this specific meeting, the GCCN Representatives Reports will be shared at a later time after the Plenary.
On the evening, we also had a Creative Communities – GCC Presentation – here delivered by Adam Stoneman, the Creative Communities Engagement Officer with the Galway City Council culture team. Adam will introduce Creative Communities and answer any questions around the five-year Creative Ireland programme currently being developed.
