World Environment Day is just around the corner, and we are excited to celebrate it with our members in a special way! Join us for a delightful morning of coffee and pastries before we head to the forest for a discovery walk on Wednesday, June 5th!
We will meet at 10 am in the Ballybane Resource Centre, where we will share wonderful refreshments provided by our members, Café Link Galway. After enjoying the delicious treats, we will set off to Merlin Woods for a discovery walk, guided by our members, Friends of Merlin Woods.
World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5th, encourages awareness and action for environmental protection. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). To highlight this milestone, World Environment Day 2024 focuses on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience, under the slogan “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration”.
Let’s come together to celebrate nature, learn about the importance of preserving our natural habitats, and discover how we can all contribute to the well-being of our local flora and fauna.
To reserve your spot and cuppa, please register before Monday, June 3rd at: https://forms.gle/S8wjXC4cLkUafUVF9.

For any questions, please contact Oana at communications@gccn.ie.
We hope to see you there! Your presence will undoubtedly enrich our celebration.
